Week 1 of Joyfully Yin Yang!
This week was all about the shoulders
Hello, how did you find week one?!
In case you missed it, here on A Little Yoga Space we’ve been enjoying week one of October’s Yin Yang theme. It’s funny that we call these practices ‘Yin Yang’ and yet we always practice it as Yang then Yin… building heat through a dynamic flow, and then slowing, softening and pressing pause.
This week was IGNITE and MELT, and the practices focused on strengthening and stretching out the shoulders:
💜 Monday - Ignite & Open YANG a fiery flow featuring fan favourite, dolphin pose 🐬 You can practice that here
💜 Wednesday - Melt & Release YIN a slow and stretchy number to find some shoulder soothing ✨ You can practice that here
💜 Friday - Carrying Lightly meditation let’s take a walk in the countryside together and release any weight from the shoulders that we’ve inadvertently been carrying. You can listen here.
The full 24-minute Yin Yang practice is at the end of this post.
This week, we also had:
🙏 An article about the five daily shoulder stretches you can do using a wall. I think the wall is often an overlooked yoga prop and one that we can all use! Try them and let me know what you think! You can read it here.
And, just for fun:
🌰 An article about autumnal spices and some recipe suggestions, including my fave breakfast rice pudding! You can read that here:
